6th International Conference On Functional Metagenomics (FMG-2024)

sixth Functional Metagenomics Conference

The 6th International Conference On Functional Metagenomics (FMG-2024) is taking place from the 2nd to 5th of June 2024 at the Kruger National Park, South Africa. It will be hosted by Don Cowan of the University of Pretoria. Our BlueRemediomics project partners from the University of the Western Cape (UWC) are on the local organising committee and partner University of Cambridge will be invited as the Keynote Speaker.

Organised under the banner of the International Society for Functional Metagenomics, the meeting brings together researchers in two broad fields: the use of gene expression as a tool to understand the functional properties of microbial communities, and the use of expression screening as a tool for the identification of novel gene products.

The Functional Metagenomics social program will include early morning game drives in Kruger National Park with opportunities to see the Big Five (prior to the start of each day’s program), a welcome party, a Conference Banquet and a Bush Braai: All items being included in the registration cost.

The meeting will be held over four days, with the opening ceremony on Sunday 2 June 2024, and the conference closing on the afternoon of Wednesday 5 June 2024. The meeting will offer Plenary and Keynote presentations from world leaders in Functional Metagenomics, invited Lectures selected from abstract submissions and poster presentations. Ample networking time will be included in the program.

Abstract submission deadline: 5 February 2024
