The International Marine Biotechnology Conference (IMBC) is a major global event centred on marine biotechnology, gathering the sector’s experts since 1989. This year, it took place in Brest and ran from the 7th of July until the 11th of July 2025.
From marine pharmacology to bioenergy, it explored a wide range of topics while also promoting the development of international partnerships among laboratories, universities, and businesses, accelerating research and innovation.
Our partners from EMBL, CNRS, SZN and Ifremer attended this event to showcase their work within the project. Photos below highlight their presentations:
Emanuela Maresca from SZN presented her work on “Synthetic biology strategies for the heterologous production of mycosporine-like amino acids from marine microbiome.” Photo credit: Christine Delbarre-Ladrat.
Sara Benito Vaquerizo from EMBL presented her work on “Multi-omics driven design of marine microbial consortia for biotechnological applications.” Photo credit: Christine Delbarre-Ladrat
