Work package 5 aims to improve access, protection and sharing of Marine Genetic Resources (MGR) by addressing regulatory issues and bridging knowledge gaps in Access and Benefit Sharing (ABS) and Intellectual Property (IP) rights.

Safeguard the compliance of the BlueRemediomics project with regulations related to scientific activities, especially Access and Benefit Sharing (ABS) and more widely bridge ABS knowledge gaps.

Engage with policy developments for ABS and IP, helping to shape new approaches to governance and value of ocean genetic resources.

Support a science-based approach to ABS compliance in biodiversity rich countries.

Guide the development of marine biobanks and digital resources in relation to ABS and IPR.
