6. European Marine Biological Resource Centre – European Research Infrastructure Consortium

is part of the BlueRemediomics consortium led by EMBL-EBI (UK) and CNRS (France) and brings together 23 organisations - Project Partners - Blueremediomics

The European Marine Biological Resource Centre (EMBRC) is Europe’s ‘research infrastructure’ for marine biological resources. It provides access to marine resources, as well as cutting-edge services and facilities that allow researchers, from both academia and industry, to study the ocean and develop innovative solutions to tackle societal issues.

In BlueRemediomics, EMBRC’s role is covered by work package 2 and will involve coordinating biological resource sample collection, preparation, and distribution. The EMBRC infrastructure will provide access to samples (approximately 500 samples, depending on demand and capacity) via its partner nodes distributed in nine countries around the European coast. EMBRC will also be involved in work packages 4 and 5.
