The Laboratory of Microbiome Research at ETH Zurich studies ecological and evolutionary factors that determine the structure, function and diversity of microbial communities. With the goal to better understand and predict the role of environmental microorganisms and the underlying mechanisms of host-microbial interactions, we develop bioinformatic tools and resources, and combine them with experimental approaches to integrate quantitative ‘meta-omics’ readouts with contextual information.
Their role in BlueRemediomics is to contribute to the development of advanced methods for the cultivation of marine microorganisms both through computational analyses and experimental protocol development.
